Jennifer Love Hewitt Believes in the 8-Hour-Diet

Jennifer Love Hewittwas spotted on the set of her TV show The Client List yesterday afternoon. As she walked around the set, she was carrying a book called The 8 Hour Diet. Weight is something Ive struggled with my entire life, so of course I had to look up this diet and see what its all about. According to what Ive read, the diet is all the rage right now. Basically this is the gist of it. You can eat to your hearts desire for 8 hours and then you have to stop and fast for 16 hours. So lets say you eat from noon-8:00pm. Then you STOP and let yourbodyburnfat for 16 hours. Its a fasting diet you cant eat anything for 16 hours. Heres more from The 8 Hour Diets website:

Follow the simple plan in this groundbreaking new book, and you can still lose up to 2.5 pounds a week, eating all your favorite foods. And in the bargain, you can also sharpen your mind, slash your risk of heart disease and diabetes, and dramatically slow the aging process.

The science behind The 8-Hour Diet is so compelling, and the program itself so foolproof, some researchers who study this way of eating have started following it themselves!

Two scientific principles guide The 8-Hour Diet even if you follow it just 3 days a week! The first is the manner in which your body stores calories, in the form of glycogen. Your bodys most easily accessible source of energy is the glycogen in your liver; if you burn through these stores, you force your body to start burning fat for energy. The 8-Hour Diet explains how to trigger your bodys fat-burning furnace while you sleep, so you can begin stripping away flab the moment you wake. The 8-H! our Diet also enhances the function of your mitochondria the energy source inside your bodys cells maximizing their output while reducing the amount of intracellular damage caused by the typical American diet. The result: The 8-Hour Diet helps slow the aging process and reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, even Alzheimers!

As I was talking with my friend about this diet last night, she said if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and I agree with her. Although fasting for 16 hours is probably not a terrible thing, anyway. More research I read shows skipping breakfast actually isnt all that bad for you and if you can get to the gym BEFORE you eat that first meal, youll burnmorecalories.

Dont you find weight loss so frustrating? For YEARS I was bombarded with breakfast is the most important meal of the day to new studies showing you can actually skip breakfast entirely. Fads change, new studies come out everyday. When I was growing up you had to have NO FAT at all in your diets toloseweight. Everything was LOW FAT. Now they say eat TONS of fat (natural, healthy fats) and stay away from processed foods and sugar. Im holding out for the day when they come out with a new study that pizza is actually a perfect tool for
